Mental Health Week

The theme is kindness.

दया

kind·ness /kīnd’nĭs/

1. The quality or state of being kind.

2. An instance of kind behavior: Your kindnesses won't be forgotten.

Kindness to me is being in a mode of here and now.

Kindness to me is being able to share my tears, feelings, ideas, thoughts to one another.

Kindness to me is respecting the time and efforts given by the other and show genuine gratitude.

Kindness to me is the sudden spontaneity at times filled with positive words and presence despite current troubles.

Kindness to me is truly cherished when you find it in the least expected places and people.

Kindness to me is helping a person in a time of need.

Kindness to me is our true essence.

Kindness to me is in this memory.

Being a kind person matters. It’s easy to take how to be kind for granted.

However, kindness is an active choice. And the more conditioned we are to respond with kindness, the more natural it becomes. There are no obstacles to feeling kindness towards others.

Let kindness be your true religion, after all, we are human kind and what is the very nature of human kind?

“The very nature of kindness, is to spread.

If you are kind to others, today they will be kind to you and tomorrow to somebody else.”

Sri Chinmoy

Being kind is good for your health.

It strengthens our relationships and sense of satisfaction in life.

Small gestures can really make such a big difference to others and when we experience the joy that your action has created, it naturally lifts your spirit up.

Take care of yourself by banishing negative talks.

Think about someone who is lonely or having a hard time and give them a call and listen.

Do you treat yourself kindly?

Do you speak gently and kindly to yourself?

Do you take good care of yourself?

Sit in a quiet spot, take a few slow breaths, inhaling and exhaling calmly and smoothly.

Start to say to yourself:

May I be happy.

May I be free from fear.

May I be free from sorrow.

May I be free from suffering.

Repeat 3 times, then replace the "I" with the name of someone you love.

Now replace with someone you are having difficulty with, then someone who has the same feelings towards you. Lastly, extend the meditation towards all beings and the whole world.

"A generous heart, kind speech and a life of service and compassion are the things which renew humanity."

Buddha
